Guys, a great event is gonna happend if everyone wants in & participate.

Here’s all the info.

What is the Musea Gathering?

The Musea Gathering is an education event for photographers that consists of a celebration, one full day of presentations and nine different workshops for you tochoose from. The Gathering is designed to give photographers the knowledge and inspiration that they need to improve their creativity and business without feeling like they need to purchase more gear, more software or follow a certain ‘system’!

No ‘rockstar’ photographers will be allowed to speak at this event! Think of this as the anti-WPPI.

The Gathering will not have a large trade show floor full of booths. We are considering handpicking up to five companies to partner with for the Gathering that share a common vision for the future of photography, but that’s it. Photographers need to create differentiation, first and foremost, because of their ideas, not because of the abundance of tools they use.

Here are the Gathering Event Details:

When: Feb. 4th, 2013 – Feb. 8th, 2013

Location: Nashville, TN

Schedule:

Monday, Feb. 4th, 2013, 7pm – 10pm - Musea Celebration

Tuesday, Feb. 5th, 2013, 9am – 6pm - Presentations (We are limiting this to 1000 seats)

Wednesday, Feb. 6th, 2013 – Starting at 9am - Beginning of the sponsored workshops. These will range from 1-3 days. Each workshop is limited to 15 seats.

Who is giving the presentations and teaching the workshops?

I’m honestly floored by the generosity, humility and passion of the people that are going to be teaching. I knew from day one that in order for this event to be successful, I had to get a group of photographers on board that are known for their work and love for the craft, more than how cool they seem. So I began asking around, and I’m blown away by the level of talent that has decided to participate in the first ever Gathering!

Here is who you will be learning from:

Everyone on the list above will be giving a 40 minute presentation on Feb. 5th and will be leading workshops starting Feb. 6th!

Note: All workshops will be running simultaneously, so you can only do one workshop! There are only 15 spots for each workshop and it’s first come, first serve. Choose wisely!

I invited these specific people because I feel they are doing things the right way, and they represent a better future for our industry. The days of rockstar photographers needs to come to an end and each of these photographers could not care less about being famous. They simply want to make solid photographs and help people create better work.

Within the industry right now, I see people that are getting tired of the number of workshops that are available. I completely understand that, but I don’t think we need to stop photography education. We simply need better education!

All the photographers and educators who have agreed to take part in the Gathering are people that I respect. They all share a common belief about quality photography and business practices, as well as making the industry healthier. They’ve grown tired of the facades that are often celebrated at WPPI and similar events, so I have no fears about them being able to bring solid information to you.

The reason we are announcing this now instead of July 9th, is so you have time to make an educated decision on which workshop you want to attend. Starting next Monday, I will be publishing a blog post every day for the next 2 weeks that explains how much each workshop costs, who is teaching it and what the workshop will be about. This way you can begin to decide which workshop you want to attend.

The price points are as follows:

$250 for a ticket to the Musea Celebration (Feb. 4th) and the Presentation Day (Feb. 5th)

If you buy a workshop seat you automatically get a ticket to the Celebration and Presentation Day.

Workshops will range in price from $500 for a one day workshop to $2500 for a three day workshop.

If you can’t make it to the Gathering we will also have rewards for $25 that will get you a Musea t-shirt and a Musea sticker.

Let’s go for it!
